A Story To tell
The Best Dogs Just . . .
My grandfather, a life long teamster,always had a dog by his side and a story-to-tell. As his years moved along and he endured the lose of yet one more dog . . . the family mobilized to find him another.
"Don't bother." He told them as he montioned me over for a tall tale but confided instead. "They don't understand." He whispered low in my ear. "The best dogs . . . always the best dogs, just hahppen by.
He's gone now. But as I walk-on and I travel, and I meet people, and I laugh and love and live . . . and I write. The best stories . . . always the best stories, Just Happen By."
As careers go, I've not always been a writer. I studied to be an engineer establishing a career in process controls. But midstream a childhood passion for reading and writing compelled me to leverage my industrial knowledge into technical writing . . . writing became more then a passion, it became my profession.
Technical writing gave me license to explore and ask questions about the interplay of life aleit an industrial one. And with that my technical career expanded into the realm of creative writing.
The mere act of observation . . . to take note of the common, the often overlooked can elevate the ordinary into extraordinary. To write about the so-so as something remarkable becomes marvelous, mystical . . . magical.
Narrating the story changes everything.
